It appears that exercise, vitamin D, and omega 3 fatty acids might reduce your risk of cancer. In a new study published in the journal Frontiers of Aging, researchers from several European countries found that exercise, vitamin D, and omega 3s each lowered the risk of cancer, but combining all three led to a 61 percent lower risk of developing invasive cancers. This conclusion came after studying over 2000 adults over the age of 70 for three years. You can get omega 3 fatty acids from eating cold water fish, or from a nutritional supplement. Vitamin D comes in many foods as well as supplement form, or you can get it from sunlight exposure. And any type of exercise is likely beneficial, as participants in this study performed home strength training. More research is needed, but these are simple measures that each have numerous health benefits. Maybe they could lower your risk of cancer too.
