Yesterday, I explained why almost everyone fails to achieve their New Year’s resolutions. Here are four tips to succeed with your 2023 resolution. First, find a partner, ask her or him to keep you accountable, and check in with that person every day. Announce your goal publicly – maybe on social media – and report your progress every day. Get a large wall calendar, and put an “X” on the day when you have completed your goal for that day. Then don’t break the streak. And finally, write down why you set that goal, and place it somewhere you will see it to remind yourself of it often.
Through the stories of a dozen athletes whose injuries and recovery advanced the field (including Joan Benoit, Michael Jordan, Brandi Chastain, and Tommy John), Dr. Geier explains how sports medicine makes sports safer for the pros, amateurs, student-athletes, and weekend warriors alike.
