A meniscus tear is an injury to the shock-absorbing meniscus of the knee. You might only feel pain with certain activities, like turning to change directions or squatting motions that involve deep bending of the knee. Or you might have pain throughout the day. While many patients require surgery to trim out or repair the torn meniscus, for others, trying non-surgical treatments can be a good first step. Often doing some exercises for a meniscus tear can relieve your pain and allow you to get back to what you love to do.
In this video, physical therapist Yves Gege and I show a few exercises for a meniscus tear you can do to try to recover from a torn meniscus.
