Lateral epicondylitis, commonly known as tennis elbow, is a condition causing pain on the lateral side, or outside, of your elbow. It often develops over time, frequently with little or no previous trauma. Often a small area of degeneration in one of the extensor tendons just off the bony prominence on the lateral side of the elbow causes the pain on the outside of the elbow. Most patients get better without surgery, but it can take a while and many treatments. Fortunately, there are exercises for tennis elbow that could help you get better and back to what you want to do quickly.
In this video, physical therapist Yves Gege and I show a few exercises you can do to try to recover from tennis elbow.
