In a recent video on ways to overcome and prevent burnout, I shared my thoughts on the importance of mindfulness. I believe a daily mindfulness practice can help you relieve stress and anxiety and restore your energy during challenging days, much like exercise, sleep and eating well can. But another important practice that can really help toward eliminating burnout is gratitude.
Gratitude is a powerful emotion. It blocks the negative emotions that can build up during a stressful day, like resentment, regret and envy. These negative emotions can destroy our happiness. Gratitude can help prevent depression.
And like mindfulness, practicing gratitude can be really simple and only take a minute or two each day. In this video, I share some simple steps you can try to add more gratitude to your day.
