When I give a keynote speech or webinar on burnout, people are often surprised I mention proper nutrition as an important step to help us overcome symptoms of burnout in our jobs. In my job as a physician, where physician burnout is becoming increasingly common, many of us skip lunch or cram down unhealthy foods while staring at a computer, answering emails, responding to patient questions, and doing our charts before the afternoon clinic begins.
In this video, I offer some simple suggestions for eating better and healthier foods. I don’t suggest a specific diet per se, as I don’t know that there is one best diet for everyone. But there are some simple changes to the food and drink choices you make that can go a long way to overcoming burnout.
