We’ve seen the devastating toll COVID-19 has taken on all kinds of industries, like restaurants, movie theaters, and gyms. Add sports to that list. According to data from Forbes, the four major professional sports leagues in this country and the NCAA lost a combined $14.1 billion dollars. The coronavirus caused games to be played with limited or no fans, fewer games aired on TV, and sponsorships dried up. But hope for a return to normal is greater than ever, with several Major League Baseball, college football, and NFL teams saying they anticipate full stadiums when they return to play.
