More than three-quarters of Americans gained weight during the COVID-19 lockdowns, many by as much as 16 pounds. According to the study done by the weight-loss program Nutrisystem, poor dietary choices and difficulty staying physically active were the biggest culprits. And it’s not just the U.S. Almost one-third of Irish adults, especially those aged 25 to 44, gained weight. The pandemic did no favors to our waistlines, as the CDC claims over 42 percent of Americans were already obese.
