Sports medicine stats: Injuries in elite swimming

A study from the NCAA showed that elite swimmers had a rate of 4.00 injuries for every 1000 hours of training among males and 3.78 injuries per 1000 hours of training for females. Shoulder injuries are the most common among elite swimmers, with a prevalence between 40% and 91%.
