While men appear to be at higher risk for severe disease or death from COVID-19, a new study suggests that women are more likely to suffer non-health related effects. In the job market, 11.5 million women lost their jobs during the pandemic compared to roughly 9 million men. For the first time in six years, more women say they plan to leave their jobs than men, largely due to childcare concerns. Four out of five mothers say they’re doing most or all of the housework and home schooling. And well over half of moms claim to face depression and anxiety, compared to only one-third of dads.
