In addition to wearing a mask, washing your hands and social distancing, a new study suggests increasing your sleep might help you avoid COVID-19. Researchers from UC San Francisco and Carnegie Mellon found that sleep can help your immune system fight off the common cold, and likely the similar coronavirus. It makes sense, as your T-cells that fight infections are less effective if you’re sleep-deprived. Plus, you’re likely to develop worse symptoms from the flu and colds this fall if you aren’t sleeping enough.
Getting more sleep can help you fight off viruses like the coronavirus
