Despite being among the population at highest risk for severe illness if they contract COVID-19, a study from the Kaiser Family Foundation finds that Blacks are among the most likely to resist getting the vaccine. According to the study, over one-third of Blacks say they would probably or definitely not get the vaccine, even if scientists said it was safe and it was available for free. Almost three in four admit they are concerned about side effects, while half worry they could get COVID-19 from the vaccine. But the vast majority of Blacks say they would trust vaccine information from their doctor, so getting the word out to this population will be a key goal for the medical community.
