According to a new study in the journal Sleep Diagnosis and Therapy, getting enough sleep can improve the effectiveness of your COVID-19 vaccine. Researchers believe sleep improves your body’s immunological memory. People who get less than five or six hours of sleep have less T-cell activity to recognize and fight incoming viruses. Getting two full nights of sleep prior to and just after you receive the COVID-19 vaccine augments your immune response. Your immune system is more likely to recognize invading viruses and more quickly generate antibodies to fight them off. These full nights of sleep also appear to minimize side effects of the vaccine.
