Now that healthcare personnel and residents of long-term care facilities are receiving the COVID-19 vaccine, you might be wondering when you can get it. According to the CDC’s framework, essential workers, like teachers, police, and firefighters should be next, followed by adults over 65 and those with underlying medical conditions. After that, a schedule has not been released. But the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is pushing to include school staff and workers in the country’s food supply chain in the next phase. Then, young adults, children, and workers in industries such as universities, hotels, banks, exercise facilities, and factories important to the functioning of society would get it. The final phase would include everyone else. The best case scenario, should everything go perfectly, seems to be spring, at least, before everyone can get the vaccine.
When will the rest of the public receive the COVID-19 vaccine?
