Researchers at Mount Sinai in New York studied almost 20,000 patients with COVID-19. They found that more than 90 percent of those with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 symptoms have antibodies for at least three months.
The study, which has been
published on the pre-print server medRxiv, does not prove that antibodies
protect against reinfection from the virus. But most experts believe these
antibodies decrease your odds of getting reinfected and might lessen the
disease severity if you are infected.
Through the stories of a dozen athletes whose injuries and recovery advanced the field (including Joan Benoit, Michael Jordan, Brandi Chastain, and Tommy John), Dr. Geier explains how sports medicine makes sports safer for the pros, amateurs, student-athletes, and weekend warriors alike.
