Many questions are being asked about the COVID-19 vaccine and whether it’s safe for certain groups of people. With respect to people with allergies, the CDC states there is no restriction on receiving the vaccine if you have a history of food allergies, pet allergies, environmental or latex allergies. The vaccine should also be safe if you have a history of allergic reactions to oral medications. A very small number of people so far have developed severe allergic reactions to the vaccine, so healthcare facilities are observing people who get the vaccine for 15 to 30 minutes.
