Book I read this week: An Encyclopedia of Claims, Frauds, and Hoaxes of the Occult and Supernatural by James Randi. This book is really interesting. I enjoyed the sections on certain “mentalists” and how they convinced people of their powers. Plus, the author’s sarcasm when discussing their claims is pretty funny.
Book I’m reading next week: They Got It Wrong: History: All the Facts that Turned Out to be Myths by Emma Marriott. I’m looking forward to this book of commonly accepted myths as well. It include beliefs about Thanksgiving, Abraham Lincoln and our Founding Fathers!
