Millions of people go to the gym every day to get in better shape. All the machines and weights can be intimidating. Countless programs have popped up promising you a better physique. You could also spend thousands of dollars to work with a personal trainer for a few months. Building more muscle doesn’t have to be complicated. In this video, I discuss three simple suggestions to improve your muscle mass.
Lift heavy weights
Going to the gym and half-heartedly lifting some dumbbells or using some machines probably won’t make you bigger and stronger. It might seem obvious, but if you want to get bigger, lift heavier weights. Check with your doctor to make sure the exercises and movements are right for you, but the harder you work, the better results you will have.
Proper diet
If you have a great workout, don’t follow it with a bunch of junk food. Eat a healthy, balanced diet with protein, moderate carbohydrates and healthy fats.
Rest and recovery
Sleep is critical to help more muscles recover and grow. The harder you work out, the more sleep you need. Even if you have a lot going on at work and with your family and friends, you must get enough rest and sleep.
